A new start

Well, it has been two years since I last wrote about the thrilling topic of quotes from a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. A lot has happened since then. Most of it has been pretty bad! But I'm hanging in there.

I started a new job a few weeks ago with not only relaxed hours, but a carve-out of time to use for things like writing blogposts about technical stuff. I was encouraged to write posts at my past two jobs, as well, but they wanted them on their websites, rather than on a personal one, meaning I could comfortably ignore my own terrible site. But needing a place to put such things along with an increasing desire to move more of my creativity and content off of social media platforms means that it's finally time to start using this thing!

This site still needs a lot of work to make it good but it is at least functional, and has an rss feed and everything! Smash subscribe, etc. Ignore the part where I clearly need a designer to tell me how to make a website look good.

In the next couple weeks you can expect to see a couple pieces of writing I would like to move over here from places like Facebook or previous job blogs. I've also got a couple Ruby on Rails related things in the hopper from things I've been learning at my new job.
